DDS SR is recruiting Young Adults (18–35-years-old) for DDS PEERS® for Young Adults Social Skills Virtual Education Group
Mondays from 3:30-5:00 p.m. starting September 14, 2026, on Microsoft Teams & monthly In-person classes for 16 weeks
Learn and master the specific steps to:
- Help you find friends who share your interests, identifying a source of friends and potential common interests
- Strengthen your ability to speak to others in conversations
- Use humor in an appropriate manner so other people get your jokes
- Effectively make peace after an argument and protect yourself from bullies.
We provide practical step by step instruction with video modeling, behavioral rehearsals, social coaching, and games to practice skills.
PEERS® is an evidenced based social skills program developed by Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson.
· Special in person graduation party as well as monthly in person social events and skills practice at various locations around the DDS South Region (details to follow)
· Dating module on how to tell someone you are interested in them, flirting, and going on dates
· Participants need to identify a “social coach” to assist them with skills between sessions. Social coaches may be a parent, staff, adult sibling, etc. Social coaches must commit to monthly virtual social coaching sessions to teach skills to coaches and discuss progress
Looking for 6-8 motivated individuals between the ages of 18-35
