Benhaven Walk for Autism Raises Nearly $70,000!
NORTH HAVEN, CT: The Benhaven Walk for Autism, held on September 24, 2023 raised a record amount of nearly $70,000. The event held at North Haven High School featured the annual 2 Mile Walk and a celebration offering live music, food, a raffle, refreshments and more! Over 400 walkers, volunteers and sponsors attended the event.
Joseph Furey and Sarah Cody from WTNH made a special appearance with the Mobile Weather Lab. The North Haven Fire Department also provided a “Touch-A-Truck” for everyone to enjoy. The post-walk party also featured Naples Pizza Truck, a live band, bubbles, raffle baskets, lawn games, snacks and more!
Proceeds from the event benefit Benhaven, a local non-profit that serves individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, and related disabilities. Benhaven’s mission is to enable those with autism and developmental disabilities to participate in community life, exercise productive control over their own lives, have meaningful relationships and associations, be gainfully employed, and experience happiness and personal satisfaction.
This year’s walk will be held at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven on October 13, 2024. Walkers are encouraged to register early and fundraise. Questions: email jody@jbsports.com.
