Another Successful Benhaven Walk

A beautiful weather day greeted almost 400 walkers for the 4th Walk for Autism on September 25th. A new location due to construction caused a slight delay in starting the walk, but by all measures, it was our most successful walk to date.

It was an honor to remember Kiley Krauss who worked in the Children’s Behavioral Services program and celebrate her memory on that day.

A few new additions to the lineup of the day really upped the fun meter. In addition to games provided by Benhaven School, there were raffle baskets from each of Benhaven’s program’s and coordinated by Benhaven Academy. The wonderful Sarah Cody from WTNH serving once again as our MC, we had face painting, ambulance tours (thanks AMR and Bill Helene). A big hit was the WTNH weather mobile with Joe Furey teaching about the mobile weather station, bringing smiles to many faces.

Music provided by the Macksoud trio was just perfect to set the mood for the feasting on the delicious pizza from Naples Pizza.

At the end of the day, there were many happy faces donning the great t-shirts designed by Pam and Brendan Lyle.

Benhaven exceeded its fundraising goal with $65,000 going to support the important work being done, supporting people with autism. Our sponsors were very generous this year and we thank them for that.
