Benhaven held a very successful walk for autism on September 30, 2018. Over 300 people who support Benhaven participated in our two-mile walk on a beautiful sunny day. It was a gathering of individuals we serve; family members; staff, Board members, and community supporters. Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and be introduced to other families and staff while sharing the goal of supporting the organization.
We feel fortunate to have raised over $34,000 in donations. This was the result of generous sponsors: Rose and Kiernan, Anthem, Webster Bank, Town Fair Tire, Hancock Pharmacy, David Fantarella Dental Group, L.E. Whitford, PMT Associates, Red Baron Carpet Cleaning, Bay State Software, Rural Gas, GC Electric, 
Calcagni Real Estate, DS Sewing, Goody’s Hardware, Bodi’n Motion, Coach Auto Body, Yale Child Study Center, and Cannan Christian Fellowship; and the individual donations from staff, families and friends of Benhaven.
The money was used to purchase needed technology for our students and adult participants, fund community-based activities, support get-togethers for individuals and their families, assist individuals with support for employment, and support cultural enhancement in our Academy program.
We are already planning the 2nd Annual Benhaven Walk for Autism. Please save September 29th, 2019, as the date. We hope to have an equally enthusiastic turnout for this second annual event. Last year we raised $15,000 in sponsorships. We have set a goal to raise $20,000 in sponsorships this year. Many of last year’s sponsors have pledged their support again which we greatly appreciate.
