Mentor / Support Staff


Work with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The work is based in the community or the individual's home. Most assignments involve getting an individual with autism out into their community to enjoy social or recreational opportunities while building their life skills.

*Current openings include the following locations: Shelton, New Haven, Wallingford and North Guilford.

This is not a 9 - 5 job. Hours are mostly after school, weekends and school vacations. Must have weekend availability. This can be an ideal position and supplemental income for an enthusiastic, energetic person working in a school.

Only applicants meeting the following criteria should expect a reply:

  • Must have 2 years experience working with individuals with autism and be familiar with positive behavioral supports.
  • Prefer PMT certification or other physical management certification and CPR, but will train if necessary.
  • Must be familiar with social and recreational opportunities in the local area.
  • Must be able to pass a variety of background checks.
  • Must have a registered vehicle that can pass a safety inspection.
  • Must have availability primarily on afternoons/weekends and during school vacations.
