CT Certified Special Education Teacher - Benhaven School

Looking for a CT Certified Special Education Teacher - Need is Immediate

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Develop IEP (incl. transition planning & behavior support plans) in collaboration with team members for 5-7 students
  • Implement IEP 
  • Oversee training and implementation of student programs with paraprofessional staff.
  • Communicate and collaborate regularly with families, specialists, residential & medical staff regarding student progress
  • Organize and coordinate classroom, student and van schedules.
  • Teachers work 40 hours a week

Applicants should be highly skilled, enthusiastic, innovative, hardworking and enjoy being part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • CT special education certification (DSAP’s encouraged to apply)
  • Strong leadership and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to positive programming for students with challenging behavior
  • Excellent team skills
  • Expertise teaching students with autism/ID and commitment to continued development of skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
